You know, if I were at work and I tweeted something like this, my boss would have every right to fire me. I’m openly disrespecting my job and admitting to wasting time my boss pays me for. Don’t get me wrong—I know people waste time at their jobs every day. But if I threw that fact in my boss’s face, then I would hardly be able to complain if my boss took umbrage at it and tossed me out on my ass.
Mind you, this is hardly the worst thing Steve King has ever done in office. He’s a jerk of incredible proportions, and yet he manages to get re-elected every two years without a whole lot of trouble. But still, I think it’s important to recognize just how much of a disconnect there can be between people who claim to be public servants and the actual public.
